Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's initial championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since March of that year.
Victory also indicates he has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
His counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
He saved four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
